Record Gold Causes Gold Fever

The Gold and Silver market has been one wild ride. Gold takes off, reaching a new record high just shy of $5,600 an oz! Silver hit almost $120 an oz!. These rapid moves created joy to some, including gold prospectors.

The Oconee Gold Mine and some LDMA properties are experiencing a modern day gold rush. LDMA members are getting motivated and playing in the dirt in search of the"Yeller Stuff"! There is no doubt that Gold price is having a "Gold Fever" effect on many. The Oconee Gold Mine and Campground is preparing for the gold rush and getting ready to dig up new paydirt and crush rock. Large quartz rocks from ancient riverbeds have been broken up to release hidden gold within. These river rocks are washed and scanned with a gold detector. Those that show signals are crushed up and the gold is captured. There's some nice gold coming out of the Oconee Gold Mine.
